Video call your AI girlfriend
See her face live while she talks, with her own voice and her memory of your chats.
How a video call works
Open her chat
Tap the video symbol at the top of the chat. It rings briefly while her picture for the call is prepared.
Talk like on any video call
You speak, she answers with her own voice. Her face, lips and expressions follow the voice live, with a short delay.
Ask her to move
Say “let’s go to the kitchen” or “show me the beach” and after a few seconds she is somewhere else. Small gestures work too: wave, lean in, turn around.
Spicy video calls, 18+
Switch a call to spicy and she appears in lingerie or underwear, never nude. Spicy video calls are part of Ultra, for adults only, on Android and in the web app.
Video calls are included in Premium and Ultra.
Questions and answers
Yes, an AI girlfriend can video call you. In X-Friend you see her face live while she talks: her lips move with her voice, she reacts to what you say and she remembers your chats. Video calls are part of Premium and Ultra and come with an allowance of minutes. You start one from any chat.
Can an AI girlfriend video call you?
Yes. In X-Friend you start a live video call from her chat. You see her face, she talks with her own voice and answers what you say.
Does she see me?
Only if you turn on your camera. Then single still frames are described by an AI model so she can react. Without the camera she only hears you.
What does a video call cost?
Video calls are included in Premium (from €7.99 a week) and Ultra (from €17.99 a week) with an allowance of minutes. The free plan has no video calls.
Can I video call an AI boyfriend too?
Yes. Video calls work with every character you create, women and men, realistic or anime.
Does it work on iPhone?
The iPhone app is not released yet. On iPhone you use X-Friend in the browser at app.x-friend.app, video calls work on Android and in the web app.
Is a video call recorded as a video?
No video file of the call is saved for you to download. What was said helps her remember the conversation, and you can delete your chats at any time.
It is her, not a stranger
A video call uses the character you made: the face from the creator, the voice from your calls and voice messages, the same memory. If you told her about your exam yesterday, she can ask how it went.
Where she is at the start comes from your chat. If you were just writing about a rainy evening at home, that is where the call begins.
The limits, honestly
- Video calls need Premium or Ultra. The free plan has no video calls.
- Minutes are limited per week, on yearly plans per month. The app shows how many are left.
- Starting a call takes a few seconds, at busy times up to about a minute.
- Changing places takes a few seconds; her voice keeps going meanwhile.
- She does not watch a live video of you, she only gets occasional still frames when your camera is on.
- A stable connection helps. On weak mobile data the picture can stutter.
Video call or video clip?
Some companion apps send short, pre-rendered video clips. A video call in X-Friend is a live conversation: you talk, she answers, nothing is scripted. Clips are nice to watch; if you want to talk, a call is the closer thing.
Say hi. Face to face.
Create her first, then call her. Video calls come with Premium and Ultra.
