X-Friend is an 18+ AI companion app from a German company. You create your own AI girlfriend or boyfriend, then text, call and video call them. It runs on Android and in the browser, also on iPhone.

It depends on what you want. Character.AI and Replika have far bigger catalogues if you want to pick someone ready-made. X-Friend is built for the other case: you describe who she is, the app generates her face and voice, and she exists only for you. She also keeps what you told her weeks ago.

You can start for free with a limited number of messages. Premium costs €7.99 a week or €139.99 a year, Ultra €17.99 a week or €249.99 a year. These are the prices on Google Play in Germany; other countries and the browser can differ.

No. There is no free trial and no monthly plan, only weekly and yearly subscriptions. Instead there is a 3 day money-back guarantee.

On Android you cancel in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions, at any time before the next billing date. If you subscribed in the browser and cannot find the option, write to support and we will help.

Not yet in the App Store. On iPhone you use X-Friend in the browser at app.x-friend.app, with the same account as on Android.

Yes. Video calls are live: your character appears on screen and talks in real time, and you can change the place during the call. They are included in Premium and Ultra with a set number of minutes per week.

Yes. She has a voice you choose when you create her. She sends voice messages, and you can call her and get answers in real time.

Yes. She takes selfies in the moment, so they match where she says she is. Spicy selfies show lingerie, never nudity.

Tic-tac-toe, connect four and chess, right in the chat. Your character comments on the game in their own voice.

You answer 14 questions in 3 chapters: looks, who they are, and what you are to each other. The portrait develops like a polaroid, and you generate again until it is right.

Not other users. Your chats are stored so the app works, which means we can technically access them, and AI services process your messages to write the replies. We never sell your chats or use them for advertising or AI training. Reported messages can be reviewed to keep the app safe.

On servers in London. Connections and stored data are encrypted, but chats are not end-to-end encrypted, because the language model has to read a message to answer it.

X-Friend is for adults, so flirting and explicit conversation are part of it. There are limits we do not cross: nothing involving minors, no real people, and pictures never show nudity.

For most people it is company on a quiet evening, like a game or a book. It becomes unhealthy where anything does: when it replaces the people around you instead of filling the gaps. The app is not built to keep you hooked.

No. An account exists so your character survives a new phone, but nothing forces a real name. You can delete your account, including your chats, inside the app.
