Questions and answers
Replika is one of the best-known AI companion apps, built around a single companion with a 3D avatar. X-Friend is an alternative for adults (18+) who want a realistic or anime portrait, more than one character if they like, voice and video calls, and a provider based in Germany. Here is an honest comparison.
What is the best Replika alternative?
It depends on what you miss. If you want a photorealistic or anime portrait, video calls and several characters, X-Friend is a good fit. If you love the 3D avatar and AR, Replika stays the better choice.
Is Replika still free?
Replika can be used for free. The romantic relationship and extra features need its paid subscription. Check the current terms in the Replika app.
Can I move my Replika to X-Friend?
There is no import. Rebuild your companion in the creator and tell her what matters in your first chats.
Can I flirt for free in X-Friend?
Yes, within the free message limit. For daily chatting there are Premium and Ultra.
Why people look for an alternative
Common reasons are the 3D avatar style, the wish for more than one character, and the price of romance: in Replika, the romantic relationship is part of the paid subscription.
Others simply want a fresh start, a provider based in Germany, or features like video calls with a photorealistic face.
