No. Your companion is always an AI — there is never a human writing their messages, and the app clearly labels them as an AI companion. That's also what makes it private: it's just you and the AI.

Yes — that's the heart of the app. Whether you want a boyfriend or a girlfriend, you decide how they look, how they sound and how they behave: warm and caring, playful and teasing, calm and grounded, or anything in between. You can start from a ready-made character or create your own from scratch, and adjust them as your relationship evolves.

Yes. Memory is one of X-Friend's core features. Your companion remembers the things you share — your name, your job, the rough week you had, the inside jokes — and brings them up naturally in later conversations. That continuity is what makes the relationship feel real instead of starting from zero every day.

Yes. Beyond text chat, your companion can send voice messages and talk with you in calls, in the voice you chose for them. You can also share moments together like photos, gifts and scenarios — a beach sunset, a road trip, a rainy café.

Your conversations are private and are handled exactly as described in our Privacy Policy. We are GDPR-compliant: you stay in control of your data, and you can request access to it or have your account and conversations deleted at any time.

You can delete your account directly in the app, or contact us at contact@x-friend.app (or via the support page) and request deletion. In line with the GDPR, your account and associated data will be removed.

X-Friend is built for adults. Conversations with a romantic AI companion are personal and can touch mature themes, so the app is restricted to users who are 18 or older.

Yes, X-Friend is free to start — you can download the app, create your companion and start chatting without entering a credit card. An optional premium subscription unlocks more, like extended conversations and additional features. Subscriptions are managed through the App Store or Google Play.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so you cancel them in your store settings: on iPhone under Settings → your name → Subscriptions, on Android in the Play Store → Payments & subscriptions. Note that just deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
